Moose fall short to Lynx

Moose fall short to Lynx

CONCORD, NH—The Moose tipped off against YSCC Conference opponent NHTI on Sunday, November 20th for the Championship game of the NHTI Hogan Camps Thanksgiving Tournament.  A strong first half showing from Dustin Simpson-Bragg and Jordon Holmes were not enough to fend off the Lynx who outscored the Moose 61-43 in the first half.

The Moose caught fire in the second half scoring 21 of their 42 points from beyond the arc led by Simpson-Bragg with 4 three pointers.  The defensive energy and rebounding by Nathan Martin created a surge for the Moose but unfortunately it was not enough to overcome the lead NHTI took in the first half.  The Moose finished the games as the runner-up falling to NHTI 105-85.

Simpson-Bragg led the Moose with 33 points and Holmes pitched in 29.  Martin recorded his second collegiate career double-double finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Simpson-Bragg and Martin were both named to the All-Touranment Team for their efforts.

The Lynx were led by Shaquell James who netted 20 points for NHTI.

The Moose take on SMCC on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Augusta Civic Center.  Tip off is at 8p.m.
