Moose edged out by Cadets, 53-48

NORTHFIELD, VT -- On Friday December 2nd the UMA Women's Basketball team made the trip to Norwich University to play in the Ed Hockenbury Classic. The Moose opened the tournament by taking on the Norwich Cadets. This was a close contest from the start with neither team being able to pull away from the other until the Cadets managed to establish a 25-20 lead at the half. 

The Cadets lead was extended to 9 until Jamie Plummer and Caitlin LaFountain combined for a 10 point run propelling the Moose into the lead, 40-39, with 4:12 remaining in the game. 
The Cadets responded yet again with an 8-0 scoring run. In the remaining seconds of the game Jamie Plummer drained a 3 bringing the Moose within 3 with 15 seconds to go but Shyann Josler made both of her foul shots for the Cadets allowing them to sneak past the Moose 53-48. 
Jamie Plummer had another great night offensively netting 24 points and 4 assists. Caitlin LaFountain was responsible for 10 points, 7 rebounds, and an assist. 
The UMA Women's Basketball team travel to Waterville on December 6th to face the 4-3 Thomas Terrriers.
