Moose come up short against Mustangs

AUGUSTA, ME—The UMA men’s basketball team took on Central Maine Community College in their home opener at the Augusta Civic Center.  Sharp shooting from CMCC allowed them to take on the early lead against the Moose.  The Moose remained cold from outside, but found their strength attacking the rim.  Sophomore, Dustin Simpson- Bragg led the Moose in the first half netting 12 of his 28 points.

At the half, the Moose found themselves trailing 47-29.  While a second half jolt kept the competition thriving, the Moose were unable to comeback from the first half deficit.  The Moose capitalized at the charity stripe connecting for 24 points, however the Mustangs went on to win 95-74.

Simpson- Bragg finished with 28 points and 15 rebounds going 9-10 at the line.  Jordon Holmes connected for 13 points, while sophomore co-captain, Noah Thompson chipped in 11 points.

The Moose continue their home game stretch on Tuesday, November 15th, when they take on the University of Maine at Machias Clippers.  Go Moose!
