Moose Prevail Against Wyverns

CONCORD, NH—In the first out of conference match-up for the Moose, the team traveled to NHTI for the Hogan Camps Thanksgiving Tournament where they matched up against Quinsigamond Community College.  The Moose were sparked by early scoring from Dustin Simpson-Bragg who dropped in 10 of his 24 points in the first half.  The Moose took the early lead in the first half capitalizing inside the paint in transition.  UMA went into halftime with a 36-27 lead over Quinsigamond.

In the second half, Quinsigamond came out strong with their perimeter shooting, netting 6 three-pointers.  The Moose answered back by attacking the basket and were able to get to the line to pitch in an extra 15 points.   Quinsigamond was not able to overcome the Moose’s lead in the first half.  UMA secured the 77-74 win to advance to the tournament’s championship game. 

Simpson-Bragg led all scorers with 24 points, while Jordon Holmes finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds.  Nathan Martin earned his first collegiate career double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Mike Fernandez led Quinsigamond with 16 points.

The Moose will play in the championship game in the NHTI Tournament against YSCC opponent NHTI on Sunday at 4pm.
