Moose Breeze by Rams

AUGUSTA, ME—The UMA women’s basketball team capped off their fall semester with a home game at the Augusta Civic Center against YSCC conference opponent Unity College.  The Moose were coming off of a win against NCAA DIII opponent Thomas College earlier in the week and were looking to finish the semester out strong.  The Moose came out strong offensively scoring hitting the 20 point mark in each of the first two quarters.  Unity’s offense was sparked by Samantha Jalkowski and Zahira Roldan who pulled together for 20 points in the first half.

The Moose who had a 44-20 lead over Unity came out with a purpose in the third quarter putting up 29 points and holding Unity to just 1 point.  The Moose would carry on to win 90-30; pushing their was to 4-2 in conference and 7-5 overall.

Five Moose were in double figures including Jamie Plummer, Lindsey Clark, Caitlin LaFountain, Morgan Card, and Hunter Chesley.  Kate Stevens and Carmen Bragg both finished with 8; while Bri Soucy pulled in an incredible 6 offensive rebounds.

The Moose return to action on January 7th at NHTI where they will take on Berkeley College.
