Moose Add Lawrence Grads

Dominique Lewis, a 2016 graduate from Lawrence High School joins the Moose for second half of the 2016-2017 season.  In high school, Lewis was a tri-sport athlete excelling in basketball, field hockey, and softball.  Academically, she was a KVAC All-Academic for both basketball and field hockey.  Athletically, Lewis was a 2014-2015 state champion in basketball, a 1,000 point scorer, Miss Maine Semi-finalist, Maine McDonald's All-Star, captain, KVAC first team honoree, and made the KVAC first team in field hockey.  At UMA, Lewis will major in Dental Hygiene with aspirations of being a dental hygienist. 

Lewis has experience playing in high pressure games which will help her make an immediate impact with the Moose.  “We are thrilled for the addition of Dominique,” boasts Coach Laney. “She brings speed, confidence, and depth to this solid Moose team.”

Walker Thomas, also a 2016 graduate from Lawrence High School will join the men’s basketball team.  At Lawrence, Thomas played basketball, football, and track.  He was a part of the National Honors Society, KVAC All-Academic team, and achieved high honors.   Thomas served as captain of both the basketball and track teams.  He earned first team KVAC all-conference honors his senior year in Football and track. Thomas was also 1 of 15 recipients in the state selected for the Maine Chapter of the National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Award in his senior year. At UMA, Thomas will major in Dental Hygiene with aspirations of being a dental hygienist.  

Thomas will bring a spark to the Moose as they enter the second semester.  “He brings speed, defensive intensity and offensive confidence to the point guard position,” says Coach Ford on the addition.

The Moose teams officially kick of the second semester on Thursday, January 19th 2017 at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.  Women tip off first at 5:00p.m. with the men to follow at 7:00p.m.
