AUGUSTA, ME—The Lady Moose took down the Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College 67-48 at the Augusta Civic Center on Thursday night in YSCC conference play.   “A combined team effort was key in winning this game from start to finish,” proclaimed Coach Laney on another big conference win.  “Each and every player capitalized on their strengths and we played team basketball.”

Jamie Plummer (Richmond, ME) seemingly came out sinking every shot.  She had 28 points on the night hitting both inside and outside for the Lady Moose. Plummer also reeled in 15 boards to record yet another double-double.  She was two blocks shy of a triple-double.  Freshman Carmen Bragg (Washburn, ME) tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds, while the speedy Kylie Kemp (Monmouth, ME) chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Monique Moore (Jefferson, ME) used her fierceness and strength in the paint pulling down 12 rebounds.  Freshman Kori Coro (Jackman, ME) pulled down seven rebounds and chipped in a basket from beyond the arc.  Morgan Harrington (Richmond, ME) made her presence felt in the paint and had four points, two assists, and five boards.  Krystin Kemp (Monmouth, ME) used her strength defensively and connected for a basket underneath.  Senior Erica Fredrick-Rock (Augusta, ME) had three rebounds (two offensive) and made it to the line to add another two points for the Lady Moose.

The Lady Moose made a statement defensively early on lead by Senior Jessica St. Amand (Windsor, ME).  St. Amand’s defensive leadership on the court sets the precedent for the Lady Moose team.  The Moose held the Golden Eagles to only 19 points in the 1st half.

Next up the Lady Moose play Machias Saturday, December 12th to end they’re 1st half schedule.   The Lady Moose are currently 8-4 overall and 3-1 in conference.
