Jamie Plummer selected as Player of the Week

(YSCC) -- The YSCC has announced that UMA’s own, Jamie Plummer, has been selected as the Player of the Week for the first time this season.

In the last three games against strong DIII opponents Plummer has averaged 23.7 points and 12 rebounds per game. She has demonstrated her ability strike from beyond the perimeter and slash through the paint.

Jamie’s high energy style of play and positive leadership has helped propel the Moose to back to back wins before heading into finals and the holiday break.  "Jamie's passion for the game of basketball shines through her efforts on the court," boasts head coach Jennifer Laney.  "She continuously has to adapt to being double and triple teamed, yet she still is able to produce at a high level for her team."

Jamie, a co-captain of the basketball team, is the daughter of Kim and Dale Plummer.  Plummer enters her fourth year as a Lady Moose as a Biology major.  The 6'1 forward came to UMA from Richmond High School.  While at Richmond, Plummer earned the basketball MVP honors as a junior and senior.  She was a 1000 point scorer, a McDonald's all-star, and selected as the East-West basketball player of the year in both 2012 and 2013. Jamie served as basketball captain both her junior and senior years.  She was selected as class D outstanding player and honored with the Patricia Gallagher Award.

The Moose will be back in action in the new year at the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year’s Classic on January 7th.
