UMA takes home team sportsmanship award at YSCC Championship

PORTSMOUTH, NH – UMA completed their 2017 season at the YSCC Golf Championship this past weekend at the Pease Golf Club along the seacoast matching up against conference competition Southern Maine Community College, Great Bay Community College, NHTI, and Paul Smith’s College.

After returning from the National USCAA Golf Championship, freshman Evan Kordalski
finished first for the Moose and third overall; shooting an 81 on the day. Kordalski also finished in the lead on the season with an average of 82.43 spanning over both September and October.

The Moose ended their season with their strongest performance in team play with sophomore Devon Begin improving his previous best round by over 10 strokes. Sophomore Nate Martin and junior Noah Thompson proved to be consistent throughout the year and also ended the season strong. UMA golf was awarded the 2017 Team Sportsmanship Award as they have demonstrated fairness, respect, and honesty throughout the season both on and off the course.
