AUGUSTA – UMA basketball is excited to announce that Sheveran Hardy has committed to the Moose for the 2017-2018 season.

Hardy attended New Britain HS in Connecticut and played in highly competitive Class LL. In Hardy’s 4 years at New Britain he was named all-conference player 3 years in a row. He was also named to the All Herald team twice and received an all-state honorable mention.  This past year, Hardy played 31 games for Central Maine Community College where he averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 assists per game.

When asked how he decided upon UMA, Hardy said, “The coaching staff and team.”  he also noted, “UMA also has the best basketball court in Maine.”  When it came to looking forward to the next step in his journey throughout higher education, Hardy said “I’m most looking forward to being the first in my family to attend a university and get my degree in mental health.”

Head Coach Jim Ford is excited that Hardy will be joining the Moose next season saying that, “Sheveran arrives to UMA with a strong background of play at CMCC. Shev’s talents at the guard position will improve the Moose need for balanced scoring and floor leadership. His speed and athleticism will be a boost to our defensive play and scoring in transition.”

Please help us welcome Shev to our Moose family!  Go Moose!
