AUGUSTA, ME-- On Wednesday, January 15th, Deleyni Carr signed her commitment to attend the University of Maine at Augusta and play basketball for the Moose beginning in the 20-21 season. Carr is currently a senior at Lawrence High School who plans to explore the Liberal Studies degree program at UMA.
Carr plans to bring a positive and energetic attitude the Moose and wants to make an impact on the defensive end of the court. She is looking forward to building new friendships and being able to experience playing the game she loves at the college level.
In high school, she passed the 1,000 point milestone as a junior. Coach Jim Seavey is thrilled to welcome Carr noting “Deleyni will be a welcomed addition to the UMA family both in the classroom and on the basketball court. Her tenacity on the defensive end of the court will fit nicely into our system of play and her ball handling ability and shooting range will keep teams honest.”
