AUGUSTA, ME - The UMA golf season will kick off on September 8, 2018 at Beaver Meadow Golf Course at an invitational held by NHTI.  The Moose are coming off of a very successful 2017 season where golfer Evan Kordalski led the Moose by qualifying for the USCAA National Tournament.  The UMA golf team was awarded the 2017 YSCC Sportsmanship Award for fair play, a quality that coaches Keith Ross and Josh Smith have instilled in their program.

Junior Nate Martin will be returning for the Moose this year.  Martin will enter his third year playing golf.  In addition to Martin, Coaches Ross and Smith have added three newcomers to their squad.  Ty Cowan, a first-year student-athlete, is a solid all around golfer who will add experience and knowledge of the game to our golf family.  Bradford Kraft also joins the Moose as a first-year student-athlete.  Kraft is majoring in Education and has shown great strength in the first few weeks of practice, learning new techniques very quickly.  With the addition of Freshman golfer Kathryn Ross, the golf team will now once again compete as a co-ed team.  Ross brings a great work ethic and determination to her game and will help the Moose with her overall understanding of the game.

Coach Keith Ross is excited about going into the new season.  “We have a great group of motivated student-athletes who have been working hard to improve their games,” said Ross of his team.

The Moose practice at their home course of the Augusta Country Club in Manchester, ME.  Alongside their travel schedule, they will also host a match on September 29th.
